Introducing The Grand Millennial Estate, Pt 1
Flourish Interiors is proud to introduce The Grand Millennial Estate. We are proudly revealing this stunning, custom design in full detail. If you appreciate traditional interior design, but are looking for a way to make classic appointments more contemporary, then Grand Millennial style is just the ticket. Not familiar with this home trend? Then tune in to our video for both a more detailed explanation and a visual illustration. Discover the aesthetic beauty of fluidly juxtaposing timeless elements such as chinoiserie, crown moulding, crystal chandeliers, ginger jars, and antiques alongside abstract art, modern lines, sleek silhouettes and geometric patterns. The end result is a truly curated, traveled, and engaging design. So come take a 3-part tour with us as we reveal this one of a kind project and explain more about Grand Millennial style. In this post, we will be exploring the details of four of our favorite spaces, but stay tuned for more of our favorites in the posts to come!
First impressions matter and that includes front entries and foyers! Creating a beautiful and balanced foyer design, ensures that your guests will feel welcomed and that your own family will be greeted with a touch of beauty every time you come and go. In this foyer from our Grand Millennial Estate design, we created this level of impact with both form and function in mind. Spring cherry blossoms are soft and pretty, while brass details add classic sophistication. Meanwhile a padded bench offers your guests and family the perfect perch for taking on or off shoes and layers.
A powder room is an opportune space to express your family's style or even add a little whimsy to your home's design. From using wallpaper, to bolder colors, and/or captivating art, our team at Flourish Interiors loves to design unique powder rooms. We engage our clients in the process, learn about their favorite colors and interests and then creatively bring that spirit into the space. Powder rooms are also a space for house guests to have a moment to themselves and absorb your style in earnest, so this is even more reason to make the space full of personality and character. This powder room from our Grand Millennial Estate features colorful geometric wallpaper, bold abstract artwork, a bamboo mirror, and a brass peacock toilet paper dispenser to add the pizazz and personality we recommend.
If you are interested in experimenting with something new in your home's design...but a little nervous too; we suggest starting small. And what is smaller than the powder room?! Small bathrooms spaces provide the ideal opportunity to push the limits on design. Due to being comprised of less square footage, more expensive materials like statement wallpaper or eye catching floor tile can be used without adding up as quickly. Powder rooms are also fun to decorate with a little extra punch, because your guests use them and have a moment to themselves here...they can take in this space on their own. Let us help you create a powder room to admire!
Moving into the formal living room, we are falling in love with color again! We're saying goodbye to gray and white everything and leveling up to vibrant hues and tones, saturating our spaces with beautiful colors and prints. This stunning wallpaper is accentuated with green painted millwork. We then added a deep blue velvet couch, a traditional green lamp, and a personalized gallery wall to create visual interest and depth to the space. We're also bringing European style to the Midwest, and this fireplace design at our Grand Millennial Estate project is no exception. This classic brass mirror could easily masquerade as a Parisian antique, and the rich patterned wallpaper was in fact imported from Europe. A trio of brass candle stick holders flanks the mirror to the right and further cements that traditional, traveled look. My trips to Paris and surrounding areas have been deeply impactful and have inspired me to call our Flourish team to design with a European flair. Elements like traditional wallpaper, antiques, brass, and candles as seen here blend together to accomplish that objective.
One of the most timeless and elegant spaces inside the Grand Millennial Estate project is the formal dining room. This space is a visual delight with blues and greens blending with natural wood tones. I personally love how the green velvet of the chairs mimics the green rolling hills in the neighboring artwork. Little details like that can really set a design apart. At Flourish, we love a beautiful sideboard! These classic counter height furniture pieces are a personal favorite to source. A sideboard in a dining room is an ideal furnishing which offers both functionality and style. The cabinet (or in some cases drawer) space provides storage for items like table linens, serving pieces, candles, and other entertaining supplies. Sideboards also allow for styling on the surface. Here, inside the dining room at The Grand Millennial Estate home, we have placed a large quatrefoil mirror flanked by two navy blue and brass lamps. A floral centerpiece anchors the center as well.
We hope you’ve enjoyed some of our most cherished spaces in the Grand Millennial Estate! Stay tuned as we flush out more details of this gorgeous and luxurious home in the posts to come.
